The numbers are in! There were 970 birdies and 14 eagles (eagles count as two birdies) made by the golf professionals during the four rounds of competition at the 2011 Bridgestone Invitational for a grand total of 998.
Birdies for Charity is a contest where you guess the number of birdies that will be made by the PGA TOUR professionals during the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational, Thursday, August 4th thru Sunday, August 7th at Firestone Country Club. A Grand Prize is awarded to the person who guesses the correct number, as well as prizes for First, Second and Third Place.
Sponsored by Northern Ohio Golf Charities, the contest is administered by the Women's Board of Akron Children's Hospital of Akron, and all proceeds benefit the more than 600,000 children treated each year at the Hospital.
A drawing to award the prizes was held on Monday, August 29th at Akron Children's Hospital. Congratulations to this year's prize winners:
Grand Prize - $5,000.00 equally divided between all that guessed the correct amount of birdies - Adam Boone, Kathy Butas, Pete Getzinger and Barb Malady
First Prize - Sharp® 42" Aquos TV - Holly Farah

Third Prize - Set (4) of Bridgestone Tires - Casey Stahl
